Montagne Noire 'Aviatrice' now @ Genre

Montagne Noire's first entry into the monthly Genre fashion event (This month's theme: Steampunk) is "Le Aviatrice" (Lady Aviator), a steampunk inspired aviator jacket, skirt & matching helmet, all for 100L!

Le Aviatrice was created with mesh, sculpted and flexi prim elements. Both the jacket and skirt are rigged mesh, and come in 5 standard sizes to best fit your avatar. Alpha mask layers are also provided for additional fit adjustments.

Le Aviatrice's helmet is best worn with a hair tattoo and/or prim/mesh bangs (style card included with recommendations).

About Genre:
Genre is a monthly event that focuses on celebrating the different cultures within SL. With so many creators designing for these special communities, it was high time that they had an event of their own, not only bringing them and their talents to the general populace of SL, but also at a price everyone can afford.
Each month a specific genre is chosen along with a theme to help inspire and unify the designers in their creations, with a price cap of 100L per item, each item being new and exclusive to the event. Starting on the 15th of every month and ending on the 12th, people will have a lil less than a month to visit the event.

Genre's new location is here, or visit the website for more information.

Our first mesh release: Le Voyageuse!

Montagne Noire presents its very first (partial) mesh outfit, "Le Voyageuse" (The Traveler), a Victorian/Edwardian wool traveling gown with matching hat and decaled suitcase, in SIX colors.

Le Voyageuse was created with mesh, sculpted and flexi prim elements. Both the jacket and skirt are rigged mesh, and come in 5 standard sizes to best fit your avatar. Alpha mask layers are also provided for additional fit adjustments.

Le Voyageuse is part of our new clothing line, "Belle Epoque" (Beautiful Era), dresses with fashion elements that reflect the changes in clothing styles between the late Victorian (roughly 1880-1900) and Edwardian eras (roughly 1900-1920). Wearing the skirt with the bustle, the ensemble is ideal for late Victorian era roleplay; wear the skirt without the bustle and you are instantly prepared to enter any Edwardian themed roleplay.

As a new release, this week this outfit is currently 50% off retail, just 125L, at our main store ONLY. A free demo is also available in our Marketplace shop.

Get your Pilgrim on!

Okay, I confess that updating this blog hasn't been at the top of my priorities list since returning full time to SL... for one thing, they changed the template on me, and because of my cognitive issues it takes forever for me to get used to changes like this.

Also, I've been concentrating on creating content, and getting ready for the holidays, which this week includes Thanksgiving.

Two new additions to Montagne Noire's role play clothing: "Le Pieux" (The Pious) and "Le Petit Pieux", two 17th century costume sets depicting the American Pilgrims, part of the reason why we celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November each year.

The Pilgrims arrived on America's shores in 1620, in the the small 100-foot ship the Mayflower, where they founded the colony of Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Legend has it that it was the native Wampanoag people who helped the Pilgrims survive the first winter in Plymouth, teaching them to fish and later grow corn in the spring.

The "First Thanksgiving" was celebrated in 1621, and the feast lasted three days, providing enough food for 53 Pilgrims and 90 Native Americans.

"Le Pieux" features male and female costumes for adults; "Le Petit Pieux" is for male and female children. These sets, like our other "couples" sets, are mod/trans, allowing you to transfer the second costume to your partner, friend, a fellow actor or role player, or other avatar.

This costume set can also be worn in other role play environments, or modified to fit other eras -- for men, the pants can be lengthened, the collar resized, and your own shoes and hat added.

The woman's costume is also generally representative of many other "plain dress" religious movements, such as the Quakers, Mennonites and Amish.

These sets retail for 250L, but as new releases, this week they both are 50% off -- just 125L, ONLY at our main store in Caledon Oxbridge Village. Enjoy!

New release "Tunique" Greek/Roman toga set

Fresh of the virtual sewing machine is "Tunique," a classical Roman/Greek toga set for roleplayers. You may recognize the "pearl" variation, but I've added two additional colors, ruby and onyx:

This set includes full outfits for both women and men, and is modify/transfer, so you can buy it for yourself, and transfer the second outfit to your partner! Even better, through next weekend this set is 50% off, just 100L.

Enjoy!

Montagne Noire Merchantile in Deadwood

The newly reset Deadwood western RP sim has a great little merchants section within Fort Laramie, the starting point of your journey to Deadwood (in real life about 400 miles, I think).

When the sim owners rebuilt the sim recently, one of the things that was important to them was to get as authentic a look as they could get from their merchant "outfitters," those businesses that in the real life Old West set up adjacent to such places at Fort Laramie to provide prospectors and travelers with the supplies they needed to survive their long journey. So you won't find any flashy or modern looking vendors here.

I finally updated my little outfitter display with vendors that resemble dry goods crates (an idea encouraged by the sim owners). I narrowed the clothing selection to what I thought would be the best fit, so to speak, for role play in Deadwood.

Stop by and see what you think -- and check out the amazing reset of the Deadwood sim at SURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Phoenix%20Pass/116/170/767. Its focus on authenticity and providing visitors with actual historical background about the real town without a doubt make it the best western RP sim in SL. The role play is a blast too!

Role Play Collection: La Danseuse saloon girl dress!

I have a bit of catching up to do, so you may see a flurry of new posts. Thank you for your patience.

Recently arrived at Montagne Noire in our "Role Play Collection" -- "La Danseuse" (French, "the dancer"), a rich striped velveteen gown with a feather hairpiece, designed for the role player who wishes to portray a Victorian Old West era saloon girl.

In ruby red and sapphire blue, the costume's undergarments feature interchangable "briefs" and bloomers, as well as black fishnet stockings, depending upon the type of entertaining you are doing...!

*ahem*

The costumes retail for 250L and are available at our Caledon main store, in the new arrivals room to your right as you enter the shop.

A Western General Store... & a Chinese Market

...Been doing some inventory housekeeping, XStreet listing fine tuning, and working on some new items for the Deadwood reset in March, and the result is "The Western General Store" role play kit, which can now be viewed on XStreet.

This General Store Kit is designed to decorate Victorian & Old West merchantiles, grocery stores, grocers, outfitters, provisioners, sundries and dry goods shops.

Among the items included are antique advertising signs, crates of Arbuckles coffee, beer and coal, barrels with flour, cornmeal and nails, sacks of potatoes, sugar and salt, a fresh fish stand and a vegetable stand.

There are fancy Victorian cabinets and counters, as well as more improvised shelving with modifiable planks and barrels. In fact, most items are modifiable, and some are also copy/mod, so the variations on your store layout are endless.

Plus, most items are one prim unless otherwise indicated. Purchasing this set at 995L saves more than 500L if items are purchased separately.

If you're looking to set up a Chinese Market, Miss Ji Yheng offers her own role play version on XStreet as well.

Miss Yheng's kit features Chinese style bamboo shades, lanterns, an apothecary cabinet, gunpowder keg, "gunpowder tea" crates, liquor crate, merchant's cupboard, a rice barrel & rice basket, a traditional quilted Shan Ku merchant garment, "coolie" straw hats and much more. Her set retails for 750L, 300L off the individual purchase prices.
